A Better Example

I recently read a blog post that kinda disturbed me. But made me realize something too.
It was about the LDS church condemning anyone who was gay/lesbian... Wow, I'm LDS and I wasn't aware that I was doing that! Maybe because I wasn't. I actually left a comment clearly stating how I, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, felt:

"As you know, I'm LDS too and I kinda sorta know how you feel. I don't hate or condemn them. I treat everybody the same, ya know? One of my closest friends turned out to be lesbian and I still love her just the same.
But the church doesn't hate or condemn anyone. That would not be Christian. I just don't want anyone to think that that's all the LDS church is about when it is not!
I'm not claiming to know everything about the gospel, because, THAT would be a big fat lie.
I just don't want you to give up on the gospel just because of what a couple of stupid people feel. That entire topic is kinda sketchy I think. But seriously. MORMONS DON'T HATE ANYBODY! Makes me sad that the saints that you've been around have made such a negative impact on you. So bad that it has made you feel like this. :( :( :(
A good friend of mine, who is also LDS, said this to me, "The church is true, the people aren't." Get what I'm saying?"

What really bothered me was that the person writing this, is a member. What it made me realize is that I need to prove her, and anyone else who feels the same way, wrong. I need to stand up and be a better example for the church.
I just love the gospel and it breaks my heart whenever I see anyone persecute it:/ At least I know it's true. That's what matters...
